I’m planning to start my full-time GDL this September and the BVC the year after; I will be 39/40 by the time I’ve finished. I’ve spent the last 17 years of my career in and around financial services in several different types of role, including consultant, senior management and director positions in consulting firms, retail insurance and retail banking. Now I just want to do something slightly different but kind of related.
I have a top 10 UK business school MBA and am ACII-qualified and have been considering becoming a barrister for many years but a young family, geographic location and likely low post-qualification income have all been barriers.
