The past year has been a period of growing confidence for Portugal’s law firms, with its lawyers benefiting from increasing levels of M&A and inward investment, including private equity investment. This activity is no longer confined to areas such as leisure, tourism and real estate, but is having an increasing impact on Portugal’s largest and most high-profile companies.
For Portugal’s law firms, this upturn is certainly welcome after the drop in foreign direct investment that followed the easterly expansion of the European Union and the refocusing of many investors towards central and eastern Europe. And the welcome result is growth across almost all levels.
