The number of gaming sites online continues to increase and the marketplace of consumers is expanding significantly. In fact, online gambling generated E20.3bn (£14.5bn) in France in 2006, according to Agence France-Presse.
Whereas online gambling poses no problems in some countries, this is not the case worldwide. A number of countries, including the UK, have liberalised online gambling. In stark contrast to the UK, online gambling in the US has traditionally been a legal grey area. Legislation proposed over the past few months could put an end to this.
