Herbert Smith corporate partner Michael Fosh is set to fill the firm’s vacant Beijing managing partner role following the departure of highly-rated corporate finance partner Jeremy Xiao to Credit Suisse.
Xiao, who announced his departure last week, will join Credit Suisse on 15 November as a managing director in the Beijing investment banking division. He will remain as a consultant with Herbert Smith until 31 March, 2008.
