The British Virgin Islands (BVI) continues in its position as the most recommended international corporate domicile by lawyers worldwide. More than 40,000 BVI companies have been incorporated this year to date, with more than 700,000 companies formed in the jurisdiction since the BVI introduced its first international company regime in 1984.

The BVI’s popularity with professional advisers is in no small measure due to the private sector having the ear of government and the latter’s willingness to ensure that the jurisdiction’s company law reflects trends in corporate jurisprudence.
