Walker Morris has advised on a £235m property deal in Hull, advising the City’s council on improvements to local housing. The Leeds-based law firm worked alongside the Hull City Council in-house legal team on the project to improve 29,000 homes to a standard set out in a new initiative by the Government, dubbed ‘Decent Homes’.

The council awarded the work on the houses to three contractors – Kier Support Services, Connaught Partnership and Kingstown Works, which was formerly a branch of the council. Six hundred council workers have been transferred to the contractors as part of the process.
