I recently graduated with a 2:1 in law and am hoping to become a solicitor. I have had quite a bit of work experience in the legal field, have done a few vacation schemes and am now working as a paralegal with a very good London firm. I am considering doing the LPC part-time but my health is really getting in the way of my career.
I have a rare photosensitivity condition which causes severe burning, redness and blistering to my face anytime I go out during the day. It has recently spiralled out of control, meaning I am always in pain and people always stare at me. This has had a great impact on my ability to do well. I have been to the doctors and basically they said they can’t help. The job has been a great opportunity and may lead to a training contract but involves some clerking and trips to court and every time I go outside my condition gets worse.
