Baker & McKenzie’s profile in structured finance has been boosted after the firm won a series of securitisation mandates worth a total of nearly $7bn (£3.5bn) in the first part of 2007.

The firm’s London arm, which hired a team of finance partners from Norton Rose in late 2005, has closed more than $6.75bn (£3.36bn) worth of deals so far this year and has a number of other deals in the pipeline, including more than 10 eastern European mandates.
