Participants in the Irish M&A market are watching with interest as the controversy over the effect that the private equity industry has had in the UK continues unabated.
Concerns surrounding the private equity industry – which initially focused on the ownership of the AA by European private equity giants Permira and CVC and the report by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) into the regulatory environment within which the private equity industry operates – have been widely reported, as have worries over the level of debt being used to fund such deals.
