The Association of Women Solicitors has announced the appointment of a new chairwoman, Department of Trade and Industry lawyer Susha Chandrasekhar. Chandrasekhar commented: "Women are entering the legal profession at an unprecedented level. We are not just the future; we will be the majority." The appointment falls in the same year as the 85th anniversary of the admission of the first woman to the Roll of Solicitors.
