Embattled US firm Jenkens & Gilchrist is facing possible dissolution, it emerged today (27 February), with a number of the Dallas outfit’s offices already set to join rival firms. The firm confirmed it is currently in discussions over its future, with management hoping to resolve the matter by the end of the first quarter of 2007.

The Texas-based firm’s 19-lawyer Los Angeles office is joining 550-lawyer national firm Baker Hostetler, while its Chicago office is also understood to have brokered a deal to separate. The Chicago team is also understood to be launching a local arm for Nixon Peabody although Nixon declined to comment.
