US giant Latham & Watkins has strengthened its litigation department with the hire of top US Government lawyer Philip Perry. Perry, who rejoined the firm on 5 February as a partner, will chair the firm's public policy practice group. Perry spent two years as general counsel of the US Department of Homeland Security, where he advised the secretary of homeland security and the White House on the department's legal and policy issues.
