I am a trainee at a City firm and am prepared to work very hard and stay late in order to nail a job at the end of my two years here. But I am becoming increasingly peeved with the other trainee in my department, who leaves the office at 6pm on the dot every day.

Often, the work that means I have to work late only arrives on my desk at 6pm, when he is already on the Tube home. I think it would be wrong to moan to my superiors but is this really fair?
