Despite generally being a lean year for litigation, the leading commercial sets continued to perform, with a robust market for tax disputes, financial service regulatory work and European law driving the largest chambers.
4 Pump Court had a good year, appearing on a series of high profile cases, fielding Anthony Temple QC on a High Court case between NatWest and Rabobank. As befits a set with an excellent reputation for negligence work, the set secured one of the largest cases to reach the courts this year with the much-touted construction junior Sean Brannigan acting on Chantry Vellacott v The Convergence Group.
