Behind every investment, board of management, financial institution or business are a collection of increasingly wealthy individuals who own property, have to pay tax and have to guard their inheritances. Despite some commercial firms shedding their private client practices, in recent years the huge growth in the number of wealthy individuals in the UK has prompted some firms to focus their attentions on the expertise they can offer high net worth individuals.

The close partnership which the College of Law has developed with several commercial law firms to deliver their in-house training, and specifically the training needs of their newly-qualified lawyers, has led the College to appreciate the demand for many of them to look after their clients’ personal financial affairs.
