Briefs were in a twist earlier this month as solicitors were banned from wearing Law Society ‘What Price Justice?’ campaign badges – distributed free as part of the society’s opposition to the planned reforms of legal aid – in magistrates’ courts across the nation.

In a rousing statement, LawSoc chief tub-thumper Des Hudson expressed his “surprise” that the badges had been banned, rallying the troops with the news that he had “written to the court to seek an explanation”.
