Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton has clearly not been as quick off the mark as some City firms with it’s alarmist age discrimination briefings – at least, not judging by a comment last week from the US giant’s Brussels- based corporate partner Jacques Reding.
As sensationally, dramatically and exclusively revealed by Legal Week last week, Cleary swept off Clifford Chance Brussels chief Laurent Legein, 38, in a daring dawn raid on the London leviathan. However, that was just the start of the controversy.
