The logic of Allen & Overy’s (A&O’s) recent pay shake-up has struck a clear chord among City rivals striving to engage with the best young solicitors, but new research suggests only a minority of firms are considering similar moves in the immediate future.

The latest Legal Week/ EJ Legal Big Question survey found overwhelming support for one of the most unusual measures in A&O’s recently announced package, with 94% agreeing that tying assistant bonuses to equity partner points was a ‘good idea’.
