Leading Italian firm Chiomenti has landed its second multibillion-euro M&A instruction in a week after scooping a lead role on the €8.2bn (£5.5bn) acquisition of Banco Popolare Verona e Novara (BPVN) by Banca Popolare Italiana (BPI).

The Milan-based independent is advising BPI on the latest major deal in the fast-consolidating Italian lending market, while local M&A boutique Pavesi Gitti Verzoni is acting on behalf of BPVN.
