Choice is not always a good thing, but there is no shortage of options facing today’s aspiring lawyers when it comes to choosing which Legal Practice Course (LPC) to opt for. The decision looks set to become more baffling still by the time those currently in their second year at university come to choose an LPC.

Not so long ago, most LPCs looked pretty similar; most law firms were not fussy about which one their future trainees took, within reason. For cash-strapped students, the opportunity to spend some time in an inexpensive regional city was a welcome one – one of the reasons Oxbridge and redbrick university graduates went in their droves to Nottingham Law School, for example.
