Traditionally, mini-pupillages were created to help those who aspire to become barristers gain some insight into the life of a barrister. They usually last up to one week, although this is entirely at the discretion of the chambers. For the most part, mini-pupillages are not funded by chambers, however, if certain chambers require mini-pupillages to be carried out before a student is eligible to apply for a pupillage, they will often both fund and assess pupils during their time there.
