Former Hewlett Packard general counsel, Ann Baskins, has avoided charges relating to the computer giant’s boardroom spying scandal. Baskins, who resigned last week after 24 years with the company, was not among the five individuals charged by California attorney general Bill Lockyer earlier this week for alleged criminal offences relating to using false pretences to access phone records during the company’s probe of boardroom leaks to the media.
