DaimlerChrysler has appointed Gerd Becht as its new worldwide general counsel, replacing William O’Brien, who is retiring.
Becht, who is based in Germany, joined the carmaker in June as general counsel for Europe, Africa and Asia. He began his new role at the start of October and has responsibility for the company’s worldwide legal function, reporting directly to chairman Dieter Zetsche.
