Although profits are up and lawyers are busy, the transactional boom is clearly taking its toll. Apparently, blotchy skin and bags under the eyes from too many allnighters are drawing City big-shots under the plastic surgeon’s knife in record numbers, with cosmetic surgery specialist the Harley Medical Group claiming bookings from male workers in the City were up 40% last month.
The group has even launched new premises at Canary Wharf, implying that the eager deal-beavers at Clifford Chance and Allen & Overy really are as busy as they like to suggest.
