The Government has moved to head off criticism of its controversial Legal Services Bill, backing the majority of recommendations made by a parliamentary committee that had criticised plans to divert from Sir David Clementi’s original blueprint for reform.
In its official response, published today (25 September), the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) today pledged to “build on” the committee’s findings, which were published in July after two months of consultation with the legal profession.
