Long-awaited government plans to convert Middlesex Guildhall into a new Supreme Court were given the green light today (8 September) after Westminster City Council agreed planning permission for the renovation.
The plans, which remain subject to formal approval by English Heritage, will see work on the landmark London building begin in April with the new court expected to open for business in October 2009.
