Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has moved to strengthen its presence in the Middle East with the transfer of London-based M&A specialist Bruce Embley to its Dubai office. He becomes the second partner in Freshfields’ 12-lawyer Dubai arm and will head up the firm’s corporate offering in the region. Embley has acted on a number of big-ticket deals in the region and most recently advised on the $5.5bn (£2.97bn) acquisition of Dubai-based telecoms group Investcom by South African mobile operator MTN in May.
