The Government has kicked off the first-ever shake-up of its innovative centralised legal panel, it has emerged, as Whitehall eyes up a major overhaul that is expected to extend its much-touted L-Cat model.

The Office of Government Commerce (OGC), which runs the Legal Category (L-Cat) panel, last month began contacting firms on the 33-strong roster for feedback on the current system, which was set up in 2003.
