Clifford Chance (CC) has warned the Parliamentary Committee examining the Legal Services Bill that the new-look regulatory body for the legal profession is not protected from disclosing confidential information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
CC submitted a response to the committee last week citing concerns that the Legal Services Board (LSB) “will have access to large amounts of extremely sensitive and confidential information”, which it could be required to disclose under the FOIA.
