Quite recently, I received a telephone call from a good client of mine in relation to a workplace romance which had recently come to his attention. The situation was that one of the company’s divisional directors had been having a workplace romance with a member of the (human resources (HR) department.

The divisional director had decided that the time had come to leave his wife and family and set up home with the member of the HR department. The news was filtering around the organisation. My client was quite adamant that they would be calling both the divisional director and the member of the HR department into a meeting immediately and would ask which one was intending to resign.
