For all that talk of trophy clients, it is clear from a quick chat with many a City partner that their deskbound daydreams instead concern lifting trophies at Wembley Stadium. Or, if the damn thing never gets finished, Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium. And with the World Cup set to begin next month, that obsession will surely only get worse.
Lawyers at Stephenson Harwood were celebrating earlier this month after the firm’s footballing representatives ( pictured below) trounced a Watson Farley & Williams side 4-1 in the final of the London Legal Challenge Cup – demonstrating that while the Premiership might be decided by who has the most roubles, there is still room for the occasional fairytale ending in the always-sentimental legal profession.
