Linklaters has retained its top spot for debt and equity capital markets work in the first quarter of 2006, according to the latest data provider rankings.

The magic circle firm came top of the Thomson Financial international debt league tables for bank mandates, advising on 114 deals with total proceeds of $81bn (£43bn). The firm also topped the equity capital markets tables for global bank advisory roles, advising on 15 deals worth $11bn (£6bn).
