The main body for City lawyers has called on the Law Society to slash the size of its ruling council as part of Chancery Lane’s ongoing Clementi-inspired review of its governance.

In its formal response to the body’s four-month ‘Have Your Say’ consultation, which ended last week, the City of London Law Society (CLLS) called for the society to halve the size of its 105-member council to between 50 and 70 seats.
