Herbert Smith’s in-house barrister and head of advocacy Murray Rosen QC has been cleared by the Bar Council disciplinary arm over a complaint that he acted under a conflict of interest while advising a client on a settlement in 2004.

The complaint, filed with the Bar Council in June 2005, arose out of negotiations that settled in 2004, in which Rosen was advising Tom Crema and John Moreland-Lynn on a claim against former business partners Keith Halsey and Andreas Heeschen. Halsey and Heeschen were advised by Herbert Smith.
