Simmons & Simmons has advised on the $450m (£257m) financing for the acquisition of five Boeing 777-300ER aircraft by Etihad Airways after winning a competitive tender for the role last year.
Simmons advised regular clients the National Bank of Abu Dhabi and HSBC Bank Middle East, which acted as the lead lenders on the transaction, from its Abu Dhabi office. Abu Dhabi managing partner Ibrahim Mubaydeen led the Simmons team on the deal, after the firm was given the mandate following a pitch last year.
