The Legal Services Commission (LSC) has unveiled controversial plans to award new legal aid contracts to ‘preferred suppliers’ as momentum for sweeping reform of publicly-funded legal work grows.
On Monday (20 March) the LSC issued its proposed model to overhaul the administration of the UK’s £2bn legal aid budget, which would put in place a rigorously policed roster of preferred suppliers.
