With competition so tough between City lawyers these days, it is no surprise that partners are scrambling to add extra strings to their metaphorical (or even literal) bows. Take senior Cobbetts property partner Adrian Watson, who last week rushed out his debut album, ‘Hostage to Fortune’ – mere weeks too late to secure the Best Newcomer gong at the Brit Awards.
Rubbishing suggestions that the record would be based on a risque spoken word version of the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct, Watson unveiled his “soft rock and jazz” opus at a star-studded launch at the Hard Rock Cafe, just across the road from The Diary’s mile-high observation tower.
