America’s band of expansionary national firms are continuing to make their presence felt in the US legal market, as Morgan Lewis & Bockius, Bryan Cave and Foley & Lardner this week all unveiled strong financial results for 2005.

The largest of the three, Philadelphia-based Morgan Lewis, saw partner profits rise on average by 11% to $1m (£577,000). The Pennsylvania leader posted an 11% fee income increase, taking gross revenue to $805m (£463.5m) from $723.6m (£416m) in 2004.
