It is probably fair to suggest that not every barrister laying out their vision for the future of the legal profession in the UK would make reference to the teachings of Mao Tse-Tung.
Yet the iconic former dictator is readily invoked by new Bar Council chairman Stephen Hockman QC, who relates a tale of how, when Mao was asked for his opinion of the French Revolution, he report-edly replied that it was “far too early to tell”.
