Contestants for the Johnny Vaughan-hosted hoax-fest were hand-picked for their gullibility before being flown to a phoney space camp supposedly located in Russia (Suffolk, actually) and blasted off into orbit (in reality a simulator in a darkened warehouse) as pioneering space tourists on a five-day ‘mission’.
