Slaughter and May this week agreed to transfer its French law team to Bredin Prat, despite an initially cool response from its heavyweight Paris ally.
The firms were due to announce the deal on 14 December, after Legal Week went to press. The two sides have agreed to the transfer of the magic circle firm’s eight-partner local branch, following discussions that began around eight weeks ago. Slaughters’ two UK-qualified partners and six UK-qualified assistants will move with the rest of the office but will remain part of the UK firm.
