The globalisation of legal services is possessed of an unstoppable momentum – at least, it is according to those partners who have ploughed the kids’ inheritance into opening new offices thousands of miles from the nearest client.
However, forging that all-important ‘seamless service’ is easier said than done, as evidenced by the less-than-cordial relationship between one French partner at a major US firm and his New York paymasters.
