A dispute has erupted between Coudert Brothers and its departing Singapore office after the dissolving US firm reported a former partner to the police, after the lawyer withdrew around $420,000 (£241,000) from Coudert’s local accounts.
It is believed that Coudert lodged a complaint with the police after a partner withdrew the money from one of its Singapore accounts. The partner put the sum into a trust in order to protect the office and settle any staff, tax and creditor liabilities that arise in the future.
