Government deregulates German utilities market as firms await instructions bonanza

Senior German lawyers are predicting a glut of major energy instructions as the Government prepares to introduce legislation that will carve up the local big four utilities giants’ portfolio.
The legislation was passed by the German administration in July and is due to come into effect on 1 January, 2006.
