Pinsent Masons has tied up its largest deal yet for long-term client IMI, advising the UK engineering giant on the £293m disposal of its manufacturing arm Polypipe to US private equity house Castle Harlan Partners.

The national firm fielded a 60-lawyer team on the deal, which saw it acting opposite US leader Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom and City firm Macfarlanes, which were both instructed by Castle Harlan.
