Many have been left wondering about the fate of their trusted food supplements since the European Court of Justice (ECJ) gave its ruling on the validity of the Food Supplements Directive in July ( Alliance for Natural Health v Secretary of State for Health, 12 July, 2005, on a reference from the High Court concerning Directive 2002/46/EC).
In the UK alone, the health supplement industry is estimated to be worth £335m a year.
