Macfarlanes has landed its second high-profile public M&A role in recent months, by advising on the £700m bid for Energis by rival telecoms company Cable & Wireless.

Corporate partner Kevin Tuffnell and senior partner Robert Sutton are leading the Macfarlanes team acting for Energis, marking the mid-tier City firm’s second recent headline corporate advisory role after it also bagged a lead role for French spirits giant Pernod Ricard on its £7bn bid for Allied Domecq in April.
