McDermott Will & Emery’s City arm has become a limited liability partnership (LLP), leaving only a handful of major US firms to have adopted the model in the UK.
The move, which protects partners from unlimited personal liability in the event of a firm-busting negligence claim, follows the conversion in June last year of the Chicago-based firm’s domestic partnership to a US LLP.
