Former Latham & Watkins partner Chris Cox has been nominated by US president George W Bush to be the next chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Cox, currently a congressman in California, was nominated by Bush on Thursday (2 June) to succeed current SEC chairman William Donaldson, who announced this week that he is to step down at the end of June.
