Withers is launching an office in Geneva after recruiting a team from Baker & McKenzie as the London firm continues the international expansion of its much-vaunted private client practice.
Bakers Toronto partner Francis Rojas is joining Withers to head what will be the 85-partner firm’s fourth international base, alongside senior Zurich associate David Hirsberg, who joins as a partner. Banking and tax expert Rojas joined Bakers’ Zurich office in 2001 from Canadian firm Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg before relocating to the US giant’s Toronto arm in July 2003.
